Stonehaven Thistle 1st XI were entertained by top of the table Bon Accord for the fifth game of the season at a very warm links ground, looking to keep their unbeaten run this season.
Thistle won the toss and chose to bowl, putting Bon Accord into bat on a very green looking strip which proved very lively with some amazing bounce.
Skipper C.Hinchcliffe opened with J.Van De Ruit at the other end and kept the opening batsmen honest on a fast running outfield with a very short boundary on one side of the ground.
J.Van De Ruit got the breakthrough when Awan smashed a catch to A. Long at mid-on with the score on 57 of 14 overs. From that point on the wickets started to fall every few overs, the De Ruit brothers and A.Keith doing the damage and with Milroy electric behind the wicket taking 3 catches altogether in the innings.
Yousaf and Sarna made a good 6th wicket partnership of 50 that put the score onto 165 and the pressure on Thistle but a lapse in concentration gifted Thistle with a run out.
From there on Bon Accord just chipped away the runs when possible using up all 45 overs; McDonald and Morrison pushing the score onto 200 for 8 at the end of the innings.
J. Van De Ruit, C. Van De Ruit, A. Keith were the best of the bowlers all finishing with 2 wickets a piece, C.Hinchcliffe taking the other.

Thistle faced a massive task having to score 201 to win against an unbeaten Bon Accord bowling attack but A.Milroy and A.Keith set out in a very positive manner pushing the score to 40 off the opening 10 overs.
Milroy and Keith sustained some wicked bodyline bowling from Mirza but pushed the score onto 92 off 23 before the first wicket fell, Milroy bowled for 31.
A.Hinchliffe was third in, taking time to adjust to the bowling of Malik and Mirza and a misunderstanding saw A.Keith run out for 60, ending a superb innings.
D.Garden joined A. Hinchcliffe and put together a splendid 50 partnership before Morrison bowled Garden for 24 with the score on 149 for 3 leaving Thistle in a good position.
Unfortunately 5 and 6 were given out LBW only putting on 8 between them with the score on 160 for 5 off 37.
Thistle pushed on and things were starting to get tense with 17 needed off 5 overs and even more so when after adding a few more runs A.Hinchcliffe was bowled by Mirza just short of his half century scoring 43.
Number 8 followed for a duck two balls later leaving the pressure on A.Kemp and C.Hinchliffe who required 6 runs off 15 balls. Hinchcliffe soaked up the remaining 3 balls from Mirza leaving 6 off 12.
Kemp (16) pushed a single off the first ball and Hinchcliffe getting another 2 balls later leaving Thistle needing 4 of 9 but Kemp smashed a 4 through covers to the elation of the watching Thistle players sealing the victory on 202 for 7 off 44 overs, a memorable and historic run-chasing innings by Thistle against Bon Accord.

Thistle impressively now jump to first position in the League and look to maintain top spot away to Inverurie next Saturday.
