Stonehaven were invited to bat after Bon Accord won the toss on what looked like a good pitch for batting.

Usual opening partners A. Keith and A Milroy started cautiously against some tight bowling from Malik and Awan for the visitors. With the score on 18 Awan made the break though as Milroy (7) edged the ball to the keeper. A Hinchcliffe came to crease determined to bat for a while and not get out to a defensive stroke. Hinchcliffe and Keith pushed the score along to 59 before Hinchcliffe (17) tried one to many shots and was bowled by change bowler Patel.  D Crozier partnered Keith for 41 runs until Keith (29) was also bowled Awan taking his second wicket of the day. A slight collapse ensued as S Crozier (1), M Jenkins (0) and S Jacobson (2) failed to hang around let along score many runs as Thistle collapsed from 100 for 2 to 104 for 7. However this brought C Van Der Ruit to the crease and he immediately found the middle of the bat with his new found confidence from some previously excellent knocks, Andy Wilson providing the much needed support at this time of the game. Andy (8) finally missed a straight ball and was bowled by Patel as Chris continued to dominate the bowling. Chris made his first ever 50 for the club including the only 6 of the innings and 8 fours. Skipper Clive Hinchcliffe (3 no) partnered first Chris (54) (unfortunately out to a high delivery which looked like it could be classed as a no ball but the umpires arms stayed down) then A Long (3no) to ensure Thistle got maximum batting points  before declaring on 175 for 9 off 45 overs.

Thistle know only too well how good Accord are with the bat and a few quick wickets were required to put Bon Accord on the back foot.

A maiden from C Hinchcliffe was a good start but not as good as Thistle/s man of the match C Van Der Ruit who picked up the wicket of Meres with his 5th delivery, the score on 1. Next ball the new batsman A Win edged wide of the diving keeper who deflected the ball enough to ensure first slip could not hold on. This was the last chance either batsman Awan or Win gave in an impeccable stand.
This was to be the only wicket Thistle were to get despite the skipper making numerous changes including bowling the tandem spin bowlers A Wilson & D Crozier.
Awan made his century before Win scored 50 as Bon Accord romped to 178 for 1 from only 32 overs.
