Clive Hinchcliffe

Clive Hinchcliffe

" Church "

Stonehaven's most famous player...at least for a short while. Well, not many people get a religion named after them!

The Church of Clive

A very successful bowler with his left-arm round action and occasionally good as a right-handed bat. Now sharing the same nickname as Adam Gilchrist, there the comparison ends but when they let him open (once) he scored 66. All in all a thoroughly good egg, with a sharp wit.

Armed with the Church's power he took on the role of Captain, leading the Stoney faithful from 2007 to 2009; to 5th, 4th and 8th in the league. His keen cricketing brain compensates for his straight talking attitude.

Sounds like a Yorkshireman! Oh, IS a Yorkshireman!

Highest score: 66

Best bowling figures: 8 for 13
