Vastly experienced, Denis took on the Vice captain's role for 2008. Batting at 3 or 4 he knows how to build an innings with patience. Always seems to have so much time to play his shots. An occasional bowler - more occasional than bowler - this ex-Thistle Captain mentors from the slip.

A rugby-lover, this gentle giant is usually on his best behaviour, but don't let his demeanour fool you. And on tour? Lock up your cats when "Squeaks" is in town!
